Family Wall Display

A private home dashboard, built and used by one household.

Family Wall Display is a personal project: a screen on the wall at home that shows the day at a glance. It is not a public product, there is nothing to download or sign up for, and it is not available to anyone outside the household.

What it shows

• Calendar events from the owner's own Google Calendar and the household's shared Family calendar.
• The local weather forecast and weather alerts.
• Trash and recycling pickup days.
• Home camera pictures and a rotating photo frame.

How it uses Google Calendar

The app asks for one permission: read-only access to Google Calendar. It can look at events so it can show them on the wall screen. It cannot create, change or delete anything. Only the owner of the account can grant that access, and it can be removed at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
